Left Heart Failure
S/S: fatigue, dyspnea, orthopnea, cough, pulmonary congestion, enlarged heart, pulmonary rales, hepatojugular reflux, S3 or S4 gallop rhythm
Causes: ASHD (#1), HTN (#2), Arrhythmia, Valvular dz, cardiomyopathy, high output states (eg anemia), congenital heart dz, volume overload
Right Heart Failure
S/S: edema, JVD, congestive hepatomegaly, systemic venous congestion
Causes: Chronic pulmonary dz (COPD, Pulm Interstitial fibrosis), OSA, Left Heart failure, PE, Pulm HTN, Valvular dz
